Michelle was seen wearing this delightfully airy and spring appropriate green leaf dress by Michael Kors yesterday while attending at St. Patrick's Day reception at the White House. It was stunning, simple, and elegant.

hawaii coverage: day three and four

 

For my Spanish love, I used lava rocks to create a picture in the sand. Its a huge tradition here, where people use coral and lava rocks to write things on the land (usually volcanic rock). Once an image is placed in an area, it is supposed to remain there forever, (or as long as it is standing) because no one is supposed to disturb it after its creation. 

 

Muana Kea, behind our condos. You can notice the observatories on the top of the mountain. Pictures do not do it justice. It is absolutely beautiful and amazing. Shear breath taking.

My first out of sea turtle spotting. He was so cute just laying there, basking in the sunset. Turtles around here are known to just sleep away the day, in the warm sun on the rocks close to the water. Adorable!

 

The cutest little Hawaiin boy who found a chameleon while we were at Akaka Falls National Park. I've never seen one in the wild before, and I was so happy that I was actually able to hold it too! He just sat on my finger and didn't move too much... He was uuuuggly looking though. He had three horns and kept looking at me oddly with his bulgy eyes.  

 

Akaka Falls: The largest waterfall in Hawaii, with a height of 442 feet. It was massive, and magical. This was the first tropical waterfall I have ever seen before. I was awestruck with its intensive beauty, and gargantuan size. Once again, pictures do not do one bit of justice.  

 

On the road to Waipio Valley, you have no indication of what majestic beauty lies ahead of the dead end road. You pass through a small village and residential homes, only to find yourself ontop of a huge scenic landing which overlooks Waipio Valley; an extremity in nature. If you can imagine, looking at this picture, and spotting a white dot the size of a pinprick along the beach, you would have just located a hiker, who is enjoying a cool break in the ocean breeze after zigzagging their way up, or down the side of the Valley. (Yes, there are trails which run along the side of the mountain, that if you are brave enough, you can challenge yourself). There are no words which will completely describe the rush and feelings which overwhelm you when looking upon this sight, however, I can describe it as magical. You hear the crash of the ocean waves upon the rocks, as a cool breeze relieves you from the hot sun. Standing up here, you realize that there are larger more magnificent things in life, which you just need to explore and find.

Anna Dello Russo and George Cortina

I absolutely love Anna, and was captured by her ultimate presence when I watched video clips of her showing her closet and the infinite outfits she owns. Idol? I think so. 

Above is a shot taken by Tommy Ton capturing Anna in her glamour. I think her headband and veil are stunning, and create a 'flapper girl' aura to her outfit, which is elegantly matched with lace. Love. 

Did you know she owns over 4,000 pairs of shoes? 

 

Phoebe Philo stunned runway viewers with her tight pant, which is ultra slim, tailored to your leg and splits at the seam, allowing the fabric to literally hug your foot. Didn't we just all purchase wide legged pants because they were all the rage? ugh. Well, a girl can never have enough shoes, and those shoes need to be paired with something, so why not make it be pants? These lusciously crafted ones out of super sleek and sexy fabric are too amazing to pass by. 

 

Lucia Pieroni, the famed makeup artist did wonders at Rick Owen's show, performing a subtle magic to spark interest towards each model's lusciously red lips. Eyebrows were bleached to allow maximum concentration on her sexy pout, which I simply adored. It reminded me of the reference Issac Mizrahi makes to Call of the Wild in his documentary Unzipped. -A beautiful woman is found in the Arctic with her makeup in absolutle perfect condition and not a hair out of place, while she is draped in a gorgeous fur coat. 

 

Street style is all the rage right now, and people are becoming famous instantly over the internet if they are caught on camera for wearing something FABULOUS. However, fabulous does not have to be haute couture, or extremely outrageous, it just needs to be noticeable. Take Caroline Brasch Neilson for example; a top model, who is seen wandering the streets looking absolutely chic in a 'cool college student, who absolutely knows the ins and outs of realistic fashion'. Superb. 

 

Everyone loves a cozy parka for the winter. Especially if you live where I live. There is no surviving the winter if you don't have the correctly crafted and applied outerwear. So thankfully the runways were rife with a fabulous selection. Altuzarra paired their parkas with simple slip dresses underneath, which gave an elegant look to the industrial strength and (size) of the usual obnoxiously large characteristics of a parka. 

 

From combat boots to classic black pumps, Chanel has covered it all this season. Depending on your likelihood to rough your outfit up, or add a simple heel, you might want to scour the possibilities seen on the runway. Combat boots are taking on classier characteristics, such as buckles and a more form fitting ankle strap. No more army surplus store, rough edges and messy shoe ties. Chanel will dress you up in style, even when it is meant to look rustic.

 

Ed Meadham and Ben Kirchhoff do not like to play by the rules. This season saw new heights in fashion, as well as runway etiquette. The models wore stunning red outfits that blew many fashionistas minds, however the ability to concentrate on one outfit at a time was hindered by the fact that all the models were sent down the runway at once. There was no time to solely focus on the composition of one garment due to the distraction of the one behind; or maybe infront? Either way, Meadham and Kirchhoff love to make statements, and they definitely accomplished that this season. 

 

Sandals, oddly were a highlight of the Fall Season's Runway scene. How, do you ask, are sandals practical for winter? Well, you adorn them with fur of course! Alexander Wang performed this feat superbly by pairing a stunningly sharp and geometrically shaped heel with a swatch of feminine fur, which accentuated his sleek and sexy pant. 

 

Riskay accessories and subtleties are in this season as well. Look to Louis Vuitton for a sexy, yet refined outfit inspired by doormen at a luscious hotel or condo. Who knew that doormen could be ultra sexy?

 

Kate Moss walking for Louis Vuitton... I really have no words, except that this image is pure beauty. It is rough, edgy and sexy, while being refined and classy as well. Reminds me of a 'good girl gone bad' in a movie in the 20's or so, when women started to realize they could have daring personalities and make their own decisions. Kate Moss is definitely a Femme Fatal. 

 

 

hawaii coverage: morning of day two

Day two. As of the moment, I feel as if I am suffering from a large case of time lag, as yesterday I thought was already today, which is completely wrong. The days are somewhat melting together, however weird as that sounds, it actually makes my day feel longer, because I feel as if I have accomplished more things. And believe me, in day two, we definitely did. :
For one, we made a purchase at costco for a large amount of our food consumption that got the locals talking... People made bets on the final total, and I was asked numerous times if my family either owned a store, or were preparing for the end of the world. ha.
Second, I found COSTCO brand tequila and vodka. IN BULK. haha.
Third, I saw my first turtle in the wild.
Fourth, I saw my first turtle tattoo in the wild.
Fifth, I'm starting to change from pasty white to a shade of somewhat less of a ghostly colour.

hawaii coverage: morning of day one

So for some of you, who are my close friends have heard the news that I have run off to Hawaii for the next 18 days. Just to clarify, the tsunami that rocked Japan had little affect on the shoreline here. However, the beach outside our condo is under construction, as there were three feet high waves that reached 35 feet inwards.

I have brought my laptop, so be ready for daily updates on my adventures, and the beautiful life found only in Hawaii. I'll be on the hunt for outrageous fashion trends as well, and still keep my loyal fans up to date on high fashion updates around the world as well.

Yesterday was a long day... as we were traveling for a total of 15 hours, and I probably pulled three all nighters through different time zones. Unfortunately, I woke up at around 5 in the morning local time, but it was definitely well worth it, because I spotted my first humpback whale jumping off in the distance.

Can I stay here forever??

just a typical thursday night...

so for one, I would like to apologize for not posting in an UBER long time... I have been sick, sleeping on the couch for what feels like a million years, but has really been about a week. In the past couple of days, I have somewhat been researching the runway shows which have been presented at Paris Fashion Week, and have been captivated by many of them. In my opinion, Louis Vuitton blew me out of the water. I loved the sexiness of the sheer fabrics, and the authority that each garment gave to the wearer. I felt as the hats played on an inspiration of an airline hostess or door woman, 'futurized'. If only I could have been there in person to see the gates open for each model to walk down the runway. For now, I can only lust over the thought. Here are some of the images which I LOVE, and someday hope to wear as well.

creative and inspirational lip application makeup.

So I am currently in the process of preparing a photoshoot, which is inspired by the 1960's Mad Men look. I was hustling like crazy yesterday to try and find hair and makeup stylists who would help on the shoot, which inspired me to look up different types of makeup available out there. I came across a neat portfolio of painted lips, that look like different animals. They're quite cute :)
