en el plaza lookbook

Straight out of my inspiration this morning. I may not be trotting around the European landscape (just yet), however I can dream until that day comes.

en el plaza

Today I was inspired by the European mentality of walking in plazas, where you have footpaths, and there are absolutely no cars, except the odd motor bike that has made it past the barriers. I did this a couple times with my boyfriend in Spain (yes, I rode on the back of a moped bike and it was amazing). I picture the beautiful European ladies walking casually around in their palazzo pants, which are amazingly chic and comfortable. They're laidback, yet extremely elegant. This inspiration has created my outfit for today, which will be showcased soon.

259 Host- Delectable Indian Cuisine (with a Seafood Twist)

This Saturday night, I had the pleasure of going out to dinner with my parents to a wonderful Indian restaurant in downtown Toronto. 259 Host is a elegant and modern hotspot located at 259 Wellington Street, right beside the Marriott. As soon as I sat down, the mix of traditional smells and trendy artwork created an amazing atmosphere that was truly and exceptionally enjoyable.
As one of my best friends is Indian, I am no newcomer to the Indian cuisine and what spices and dishes it entails. However, I was surprised and amazed by the creations that wound up at our table. Although I was stuffed to the brim, I couldn't help but eat more because it was absolutely delicious. We ordered around six or seven dishes and somehow managed to finish them all. For starters, we had straight martinis accompanied with a sample dish of samosas, and crusted goat cheese crumpets with mango sauce. We then enjoyed giant grilled scallops with a fine tomato and herb paste, an an order of goat cheese and spinach filled naan. (omg, yum). And for the grand finale, we all ordered (yes, the same dish because it is superb), two lobster tails in a subtle curry sauce. I don't know how they managed it, but the lobster tails were cooked to perfection, and popped out of the shell so easily, they almost slipped out. Pictures definitely don't do the meal justice- once again, it was truly amazing. If you have the chance, do go and enjoy a wonderful evening there.

free as a bird

I have yet to decide if when I start to realize that summer is on its way out, that it is a bad thing or not. Of course I miss the sweltering heat, digging my toes in the sand and trying my hardest to avoid awkward tan lines, don't get me wrong. However, I love the smell of fall, the distinguished rustling of the leaves in the wind and the crisp smell of the weather turning. This is a time I feel, for the most elegant fashion trends and styles to arise. Neutral colors are ever-present and classic lines appear. Fall is a season for classiness. I have found my inspiration for the day to be quite fitting- elegantly displaying Dolce and Gabbana along with Philip Lim. Ahh, the beautiful life.

Is Lady Gaga Santa's New Helper?

I'm not going to lie, when I first heard that Lady Gaga was putting her own spin on Christmas, creating a Haus of Gaga workshop, just like Santa's workshop for Barney's this coming x-mas season, I thought to myself, what next? Who knew that Gaga would take over the world- c'mon, let's not deny it... She's associating herself with the iconic figure of Santa Claus himself. But I applaud her. It's truly amazing what she is doing, and to donate 25% of all sale proceeds to a charity of her choice is a great way to add a bit of Christmas spirit to things. However, I'm a bit skeptical of the display she'll put on... Lady Gaga isn't really a depiction of chestnuts roasting on an open fire. Yet, as always it will create hype and throw Gaga further into her fans hearts. I look forward to seeing what manifests from this x-mas collaboration with Barneys in New York.
