be a lady for halloween.

I sometimes ask myself, WHERE DID Lady Gaga come from? She memorized us with her catchy pop songs, drilling: 'this beat is sick, I wanna take a ride on your disco stick' into our brains, which definitely played a continuous loop in my head for some time. Then, she gave us an overdose of eye candy with her exotic and unconventional outfits, pretty much initiating the era of body suits and bare legs. I have yet to attempt this look, but time will only tell...
For any of you, who are too shy to express your individual creativity during your normal, every-day life, why not be adventurous on the one day that we throw our morals on the ground, stomp on them, and toss them out the window? Halloween brings in all sorts of ridiculous costumes, and no one is 'technically' allowed to judge you for it. So dress up, show some skin, and maybe even some meat (for all you dirty people I'm talking about Lady Gaga's outfit at the 2010 VMAs), and make some noise while you rock out your costume. I've decided, like you should as well, to be a Lady for Halloween.  Grab some over the top fake eyelashes, glitter, a body suit, nix the leggings and add in some sparkles and a bleach blonde wig.

xx

a mix and match of items to update your fall wardrobe.

The newest item that's hitting the press is one that we fell absolutely in love with during the winter season last year. Canadians were obsessed with the Vancouver 2010 Olympic themed mittens that we purchased approximately 3.5 million pairs of them. And some of us, couldn't manage to get our hands in, let alone on a set of these due to their high demand. One of my friends personally made a trip to the Bay every week on the day of their shipments of the mittens and still has yet to wear these warm fuzzies. BUT, to satisfy Canadians, The Canadian Olympic Foundation has a launched a new rendition of the mittens, and launched them yesterday (Tuesday September 28, 2010). They will be sold at the Bay, once again, for $10 a pair, all proceeds being giving to developing and in training Canadian athletes. So go out, and get yours now at the Bay, Zellers or Home Outfitters to support our athletes, keep your fingers from freezing, and ultimately to stand out in a crowd.  (Info and picture taken from the Vancouver Sun)

I am a sucker for black leather. I am also a sucker for gold embelishments. Therefore, I have fallen head over heels (no pun intended), for these beautifully crafted Alexander McQueen winged leather ankle boots. You can be assured that your feet will be noticed for these bold statement booties any where you decide to showcase them. Their versitle colouring allows for easy styling, and if you're creative enough, they can be paired with almost anything. Personally, I suggest faux leather leggings and a chic top. They can be purchased online for roughly $1,300. If I had that much money to blow on shoes, this heavenly pair would be my first choice.

However, these TYMS booties which can be purchased at Aldo for $140.00 will suffice for me until I become a millionaire.
For all the men in the room, classy footwear is making a comeback. Tommy Ton, for GQ Magazine, wandered the streets of London England during London's Fashion week and documented the fabolous footwear strutting the streets. Take a good look boys. Women like men who can coordinate a good pair of shoes into their outfits.

Tommy also caught a glimpse of stylish backpack wear amongst the streets as well. School is finally back in action, and people want to look classy carrying around their books and nix the nerdy-ness. Although both of these packs were spotted on guys, girls can sport them just as easily. The gender neuatrality of these fashionable items are perfect for the fall weather and will help you in generous amounts to trek from class to class. Not to mention, the patterns and colour swatches give off a classic prep feel, mixed with the hip-ness of the recent times.

Louis Vuitton For Edun. Every Journey Begins In Africa Campaign

Ali Hewson and Bono launched the fashion line 'Edun' in 2005 to raise awareness for the people of Africa with respect to the Fashion Industry. The launch of Edun was based on strong principles to create jobs and ultimately relieve poverty stricken Africans.

Edun products are completely crafted in Africa, composed of cotton grown and farmed in Northern Uganda.

Louis Vuitton and the Keepall 45 Travel Duffel bag has collaborated with Bono and Ali's Edun Campaign to created a beautiful Louis Vuitton Duffel. The bag is priced at $4,900 USD and all proceeds go towards the Conservation Cotton Initiative, which promotes organic and eco-friendly cotton growing. The Conservation Cotton Initiative was established in 2007 by the Wildlife Conservation Socitety and Bono along with his wife Ali.

Each bag features an African inspired charm, crafted of ebony and bone spikes. Each spike is beautifully shaped, featuring Louis Vuittons signature pattern, coloured in spectacular ivory and brown shades.

cutout sweaters. make a statement?

Yesterday, I made the trip to Toronto to attend my SECOND (woo) fashion class of this Fall Term. Although I love London, and the people who have made the past two years of my life extremely enjoyable, Toronto seems to give me the right 'snug' fit that I needed with respect to fashion. My profs are amazing and are unbelievably talented, my classmates are the next designers, models and personal shoppers in an elite Torontonian group, and the buzz around campus is absolutely breathtaking. There is always something happening, no matter what time of night.
The one thing that I love about Toronto and in particular, my classes, is that fashion NEVER sleeps. literally. I have personally witnessed five inch heels walk into a night classroom; which the duration is three hours. I have counted endless designer handbags and spotted even more labels on sunglasses. No one looks un-put-together. And if they do, you can sure as hell bet they did it on purpose.
My course outline is like reading a letter saying that you have won the lottery. Yes, Fashion magazines are my required textbooks.

My first assignment is to spot new fall trends while in a crowded area.
Just so everyone knows, I am in love.

Here is one piece of clothing that I've noticed I hope catches on, because I intend to sport a similar look at somepoint in the near future. A sweater similar to the ones below was worn by a classmate who was sitting infront of me, and I fell in love with it instantly.
