29.9.10

a mix and match of items to update your fall wardrobe.

The newest item that's hitting the press is one that we fell absolutely in love with during the winter season last year. Canadians were obsessed with the Vancouver 2010 Olympic themed mittens that we purchased approximately 3.5 million pairs of them. And some of us, couldn't manage to get our hands in, let alone on a set of these due to their high demand. One of my friends personally made a trip to the Bay every week on the day of their shipments of the mittens and still has yet to wear these warm fuzzies. BUT, to satisfy Canadians, The Canadian Olympic Foundation has a launched a new rendition of the mittens, and launched them yesterday (Tuesday September 28, 2010). They will be sold at the Bay, once again, for $10 a pair, all proceeds being giving to developing and in training Canadian athletes. So go out, and get yours now at the Bay, Zellers or Home Outfitters to support our athletes, keep your fingers from freezing, and ultimately to stand out in a crowd.  (Info and picture taken from the Vancouver Sun)

I am a sucker for black leather. I am also a sucker for gold embelishments. Therefore, I have fallen head over heels (no pun intended), for these beautifully crafted Alexander McQueen winged leather ankle boots. You can be assured that your feet will be noticed for these bold statement booties any where you decide to showcase them. Their versitle colouring allows for easy styling, and if you're creative enough, they can be paired with almost anything. Personally, I suggest faux leather leggings and a chic top. They can be purchased online for roughly $1,300. If I had that much money to blow on shoes, this heavenly pair would be my first choice.

However, these TYMS booties which can be purchased at Aldo for $140.00 will suffice for me until I become a millionaire.
For all the men in the room, classy footwear is making a comeback. Tommy Ton, for GQ Magazine, wandered the streets of London England during London's Fashion week and documented the fabolous footwear strutting the streets. Take a good look boys. Women like men who can coordinate a good pair of shoes into their outfits.

Tommy also caught a glimpse of stylish backpack wear amongst the streets as well. School is finally back in action, and people want to look classy carrying around their books and nix the nerdy-ness. Although both of these packs were spotted on guys, girls can sport them just as easily. The gender neuatrality of these fashionable items are perfect for the fall weather and will help you in generous amounts to trek from class to class. Not to mention, the patterns and colour swatches give off a classic prep feel, mixed with the hip-ness of the recent times.
