resumes.

Today was a a day full of moving furniture a gusty winds... I wasn't too impressed with the weather. I went downtown to drop off some resumes at a couple cute boutiques downtown, and i wore this outfit. Featured here is a cute cotton t-shirt dress, paired with a golden clasped belt and a vintage necklace.

I'm also wearing a Kenneth Bell seashell ring.
Full body shot.

Sorry for the short post, but more will come shortly. I hope everyone is doing well on exams! You will be done soon! wooooo

A Day Downtown.

After a long morning of packing up my apartment, I needed a break. So I called up my friend to go window shopping downtown London. There are tons of little boutiques hidden on the corners of Richmond, that I discovered many new places where I will shop from now on. They range from vintage, to sporty, to classy, to just about everything. For our outing, I decided to dressup, as per usual.

I'm wearing a cropped grey pin stripe blazer, a long white tank from Forever 21 that is adorned with black bandages, and black tights.

I paired everything with a thrifted black leather belt that is attached with chains, and a chain belt that I clipped on to it, allowing it to fall lower on my waist. One woman in a store even asked if my shirt came with the belts and I replied, no, I styled it. She was pretty impressed. :O

The weather's been kind of chilly lately, and I just wish that I would be able to run around in shorts and a tank, but no such luck lately. Fingers crossed for a nice sunny day, and I will surely see you downtown on a patio.

Style Review Launch Party

The day finally arrived, one that a large group of people had been waiting for for a pretty long time. The Sytle Society launched it's annual magazine, the Style Review.
Below is a sneak peak of what an amazing job the exec team pulled off.
To view the full magazine online, visit:
http://stylereview.weebly.com/

The issue takes you through a wide variety of styles, including vintage, tribal, gothic hip and burberry style prep. The photos are glorious, and the style is amazing. It's truly inspirational and teaches you quite a few things on how to amp up your own sense of style!

The editor, Stephanie DiBiase, did an excellent job on the magazine, and I had the pleasure of talking with her about a collaboration with my blog and the Style Review next year, as well as the Style Society's blog!

Here are some snap shots from the magazine, but they definitely do not do the real one justice!

We celebrated the launch at a cute little restaurant downtown London called Cello. They had a wide selection of martinis; anything from strawberry flavoured to leechi, to skittles, to sour candies. They were absolutely a perfect sophisticated touch to our stylish launch.
The restaurant itself was gorgeously hip, featuring leather couches, chandeliers and candlelit tables. It was as if we were in a chic bistro downtown New York!

The remains of my strawberry martini.

The models, dining.

Group shot.

Shraddha insisted I take a picture of her, she was wearing the cutest outfit, and was definitely bold wearing FUR! I absolutely loved it.
She took a purse chain and modified it to be a heaband, a vintage yellow shirt tucked into high waisted jeans, finally topped off with the fur jacket. gorg.

Is it obvious that she's the new VP Social for next year?

The boys came dressed classy, and we had a debate on why more men don't dress like this in public. Come on guys, the girls love it! (Truly)

All in all, it was a wonderful night, full of classy martinis and gorgeous clothes. Hopefully you check out the magazine, and enjoy it!

the wind is in my hair, the sun is in my eyes, and I'm loving life

It is said that a picture can tell a thousand stories. As of now, both of us have finished second year and have written too many essays, too many exams and filled out out way too many scantron sheets to actually explain these images. So, here are 11 images, therefore giving you 11,000 potential stories. Goodluck with this form of procrastination. ENJOYYYYYYYY, I know we are.
We're done baby.

whispering in the library.

I just had the fortunate experience of hearing some one yell-whisper. Yes, there is such a thing. You've all heard it before: people who decide to pick up their phone whilst studying, only to tell the person they can't talk because their in the library. However, I'm convinced that a whisper yell is probably louder than a normal voice. Try it out some time. You'll make less of a fool of yourself.
"Hello?... Hello? What? Speak up... No! I can't speak up, I'm in the library... What? WHAT? I'll call you later... NO. LATER" Click.
CAN ANYONE SAY POINTLESS?
Put your phone on silent, when you realize some one is calling, walk out of the room for a better environment to engage in some what of a purposeful conversation. How can anyone focus when they're dying of laughter (silently obviously).
If there is an award for the most insignificant phonecall, I would award it right here, right now. I'm sure you all have had similar experiences... Maybe even your own.
Anyway... Hopefully the girl who took the call doesn't know me and somehow ends up reading this post... Bad news.
However, This is what I like to do on my study break.

A silver link chain attached to a silver circular linked bangle.

Skinny dark jeans.

A black tank belted with a black leather belt embedded with chains.

Mmmmm okay. So its back to the books, back to the grind, and back to reading in my comfy couch I've seemed to snag. (Pictured above).
Goodluck on exams everyoneeeeeeeee!

McQueen.

I've been abscent for way too long. It seems like a decade, but it's probably only been about two weeks. I've been locked up in the library studying, and haven't even had time to open up one of the many vogue and harper's bazaar magazines that have been stacking up in my room. I finally have a little bit of a break, and I decided to feature some hot new trends that have been popping up. Summer is just round the corner, but in the fashion world, its already fall 2010. The clothes are absolutely amazing, but I'm going to pray for warm weather for as long as possible. Above is Demi Moore's video from the feature photo shoot for the newest Harper's Bazaar. I absolutely love her, and her style. The photoshoot was extremely whimsical and fantasy like, featuring an oversize chair and a miniature doll house.

Study Break: Searching Haper's website.
Fall 2010 holds a new crop of gorgeous clothing from some of my favourite designers.
Here is my favourite collection thus far from Paris Fashion Week Fall 2010

The late Alexander McQueen was greatly missed when his parent company, PPR presented McQueen's collection which he was previously working on before he passed away. With royalty comes elegance, and this collection surely did both those descriptions justice.

Each piece features glorious patterns, extensive drapery and exotic colours.

The presence of McQueen's style and design is uplifting, taking anyone who steps into one of his dresses into a fantasy world. His inspiration of the Renaissance era exudes elegance and high status. Beauty is portrayed within the flows and drapes of each of his pieces.

There is an exotic influence in each of the pieces as well, with an abundance of feathers, displayed subtly within the head dresses and patterned in the golden jacket above.

Gold is a colour worthy of royalty, and this collection utilizies this colour to the fullest, making each piece Queen worthy... literally.

My study break has unfortunately come to an end, and off to the library it is. I'm almost done exams and can dream of the summer in the near future.
Here's the outfit of the day. It's no Alexander McQueen, but I think I would get looked at oddly if I showed up to the library in an Renaissance corset drapery dress.

A change of scenery.

Featured here are a pair of navy striped, high waisted shorts. I paired them with leggings and tucked in a navy silk tanktop. To put everything together, I belted the outfit with a navy and gold belt.

Hope everyone is looking forward to being done school soon, I definitely am.
I cannot wait to head into Toronto every week for my internship and further my experience. I was even given the offer of possibly writing for Wendy Wong's blog (the fashion designer who I am interning under). I'm extremely excited. These next two weeks cannot go by fast enough.
