recap of fashion at the grammys. some hits and misses...

So, I grabbed a collection of photos from MTV's live update of what people wore on the red carpet to the Grammys. I assesed, voted, and fell in love with many (not all... britney, not all) of the outfits. Look for yourself!!!!!!There's something about Rihanna that I love. Maybe its the hair, maybe its her facial features, or her skin colour, but I am just absolutely obsessed with HER. I love this dress too, and the way it flows exactly like a waterfall or a collection of clouds in the sky. She is absolutely stunning in this dress and in my opinion, was the sexiest on the runway. HIT HIT HIT.
TAY SWIFT is a HIT, and apparently in the music world too, cleaning up a Grammy just before the show ended. Apparently her dad and brother are cheering for joy at home (where was it again)? I swear she has telekinetic powers.
BRITNEY! I didn't know you were doing an ad campaign for lace and unitards for American Apparel! You know youre supposed to wear pants with a UNI right? or a skirt? or ANYTHING? Fishnet stockings aren't really going to cut it... even Lady Gaga wore more clothing than you... and thats a rarity!
Ke$ha. Even though this outfit is actually out of the 1920s (flapper style) Ke$ha pulls it off indefinitely. She is absolutely gorgeous and sexy, and he pout puts it all together. HIT HIT HIT.
Dominatrix? CIARA?? MISS...I have yet to understand this composition of this outfit and I can say to you all that I have probably been staring at it for a good ten minutes. Those minutes I will never be able to retrieve again. oopps sorry Ciara, but I'm just utterly confused. Shed some light?
Pink. Wow, she does clean up nice. HIT. I love this dress, especially the layers and how it makes PINK look feminine, even though sometimes I know she likes to NOT. The fountain flow of dark colours make up for the lovely sequined corset top that I have fallen in love with (as soon as EYE spyed it)
Keri Hilson. HIT!!!!!! I love this mermaid design to the dress, and the colour compliments her skin tone magnificently. I absolutely love this.
ALL I CAN SAY IS HIT HIT HIT (HOT TOO). Beyonce, you know how to bring it, and you always do it with style and class. I love you and your fashion choices.
Lea Michelle. Absolutely gorgeous. This is definitely a HIT. I would wear this in two seconds. Send the dress in the mail? Pretty please with a cherry on top?
Lady Gaga. Her hair I'm hoping is fake... I love you truly Miss Gaga, but you almost look like outer space Barbie. See it in Toys R Us next week for its debut. She even comes with her own hand held constellation. Be careful with those spikes. Not intended for ages ten and younger. Batteries not included. UMMMM. MISS.
Snooki and the Situation. I find how tiny she is a tad of a 'situation'. I just want to say MISS.
Imogen Heap. "Whatcha Say" who your designer was??... I might recommend a different one. Is that actually an umbrella? Ya, definitely MISS. Is that umbrella really going to save you from any type of rain? not really.... maybe its for the sun? She seems a tad vampire-ish white.

Think Rich, Look Poor Fashion Show at the London Taphouse.

A lovely array of outfits during the day of Saturday. I got a new camera and decided to test it out. I fell in love with the pictures it was capable of compared to my Mac Book. I still heart it, but this camera is going everywhere with me now. hoorayyyy. Nicole leaving her house in the morning to go to Toronto, with her newly purchased Lacoste slouch brown boots, jeans, a white tank paired with a vest and a sweater and a lovely vintage belt.
There's the new cam! ha. It's a Canon Power Shot SD1200, grey. (thank god I bought a new one, the old one spurted smoke whenever the flash went off...)
I tried to take a mirror shot to show off my outfit, but it failed a tad.
Here's a better one. I'm wearing a tiger sequin long tank from Forever 21, with black leggings. I paired it with a leather jacket and black heels.

FASHION SHOW PHOTOS,
Think Rich, Look Poor at the London Taphouse, 9pm January 30th, 2010.
Featured: The lovely Shraddha in a leather grunge scene wearing a leather skirt and tube top.
The picture doesn't do the outfit justice, but I fell in love with the studs and sequins on the dress. It's absolutely gorgeous. However, I caught the model mid run into the back for a quick scene change. Darn.
Models prior to hitting the runway. Leather pants. mmmm.
A little bit of a better shot... I just wish I knew where all the clothes had come from!
A cute 80's scene?
There's the cutie.
Shraddha showing off her cute baby doll outfit with Richie, who looks spiffy himself.
A was situated in a spot where I could only see the models prior to going on stage, which was neat because I could get stationary pictures, but they're face aren't showing :(
Another shot of the baby doll, future Vogue featurette, I swear.
Notice the blonde model's outfit and shoes, extremely cute.
This was an amazing scene, the music and the clothes complimented eachother greatly. I'm not entirely sure what song it was, but it was slow, and it gave a surreal feel to the bar scene. The models walked slowly down the runway with no expression, almost as if they were zombies, or dead. It was really a sight. I got shivers.
Notice the ghostly clothes and blank expressions. I decided that Edward Cullen had made an appearance. (redhead model on right)
More ghostly clothes and models. I wanted to steal all the clothes they were so amazing! Featured, lace dress on the model on the left and a white suit on the model on the right.
Ghostly death stares.
1930's bathsuit scene: It was upbeat and extremely fun, the music that was playing had everyone in the crowd bobbing back and forth, swaying to the beat. Some of the bathing suits were extremely interesting too, like the one featured on the model wearing the hat. Why don't people dress like this anymore to go to the beach? I wish they would!
This scene somehwat reminded me of a 1990's street gang. I might be wrong, but the clothing just seemed to fit in that time period. I loved all the clothes however. Featured on Shraddha were these vibrant yellow high waisted pants and a burgundy belly top. She pulled it off amazingly, especially pairing the outfit with those sexy silver/gold closed toed booties.
I fell in love with this picture as soon as I took it. It captured the lightheartedness of the models back stage, jamming and dancing to the music. It was extremely cute. I also thought that the baby turquoise zipper sweater was really neat, and the entire outfit (paired with the hat and the high top shoes) was great.
Again, future Vogue model.
I thought the model (in the leather jacket) had a really well put together outfit. I'm not sure where the grey hoodie is from, or what it said on it, but it was really chic.
This was the last scene where all the models did one more run through in what they were last wearing. It was really amazing to see everything put together. All the clothes weren't in scenes according to where they were found in terms of shops, but more they were a mashup of anything an everything. The stylists working on this show must be complimented on their extreme skills. I adored the show.
Cannot forget the lingerie scene for all you boys out there... Each model sported a sexy lingerie set as well as a fur accent peice, which was then removed for a second run through where the models just displayed their lacy lingerie.
I decided I wanted a picutre with Edward. Shraddha joined in the picture and I laughed after I saw it. He did a perfect model pose, expertly mastering a somewhat vampire death look. I loved it.

Hermes spring summer 2010 ad campaign- into the looking glass we go

When I was flipping through my newest Harper's Bazaar, I came across the lovely add below for Hermes. I was captivated by the lovely colours and the amazing techniques that were used to make the add fantasy like. I realized at once that this add was inspired by the Princess and the Pea (when she's sleeping on a million trillion mattresses). I loved it so much, so I researched the add campaign. Lo and behold, the whole add campaign was fairy tale inspired! ENJOY! I know I did. (a bit too much probably). The Princess and the Pea. (the pea is close to the end of the braid underneath the pillows)
I absolutely love the colours in this add. Hermes is known for the light tribal colours, I remeber when they did their India campaign. The colours always remind me of a lovely sunset on the Sahara Desert.
I'm guessing here, but I would assume this add has something to do with a genie. The magnificently coloured orange scarf is coming out of a bottle (lamp or candle). The placement of the models arms also reasurres the imagery of being a genie.
The Little Mermaid:
This one is a tad easier to decipher. The model represents a mermaid in a lovely pool of turquoise water. The red handband stands out and the colours and shape are complimented by the models skin tone and pose.
I'm at a loss at this one, but I will just go ahead and say Pocahontas? Let me know if you have any ideas...
This one is also a tad hard, but personally, this reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. I know that Alice is never trapped in a tree with a miniature house, but the tea set and the warped sense of object size made me think of Alice falling down the rabbit hole. EASY PEASY! Cinderella, for sure. This is taken right out of the fairy tale story, when Cinderella loses her shoe on the castle steps and Prince Charming decides to find the owner and the shoe fits perfectly on Cinderella's tiny feet. I absolutely love both of these adds (above and below)
Hermes, Spring Summer 2010 add campaign. A fairy tale dipiction come true.

thursday morning's outfit, inspired by business class.

Today I decided to display a classy, masculine yet feminine look for my business class. I also tried to splash some colour into my outfit, but it doesn't really do the word 'colour' justice. Shown here is a Joe Fresh dark violet pleated silk long tank accompanied with a wine coloured vintage belt with a gold buckle found at a thrift store. Throw on some vintage long chain necklaces...

Full length view f the outfit. I decided to pair it with my favourite black blazer for the business woman look. The shirt isn't as long as I wanted, so I had to pair the outfit with leggings instead of stockings. As well, I got a noticed that there is an extreme cold warning today, so I'm some what happy I'm playing it a bit safe. As always, I like to wear large jewels on my fingers.

To complete the look, I pulled my hair back in a loose pony tail. My hair is getting so long that if I wore it down half of my outfit would be covered in a blonde mane! ha. I need a haircut, soontimes. In the meantime, I'll feature it in a low pony.
