Style Trend: Skulls

As far as I can remember, the first skull item that I ever purchased was when I was going through my Avril Lavigne phase, where I would wear mis-matching sneakers, skirts over pants and ties. Fortunately, those days for me are over. However, you can purchase a skull and cross boned item without being extremely tacky. As Halloween rolls around the corner, classy skulls are very appropriate for an upcoming trend.

To take this inspiration from the runway to your home, it  doesn't have to be as eccentric as a full length gown sporting a human skeleton on it. It is easy to take this very daring and almost ugly image and transform it into something artistic, beautiful and eye-catching.

As far as accessories go, if you have an iPhone, you can easily dress it up with an amazing skull piece of art. Click on any of the images below to completely customize a skull iphone case for yourself.

If you want to doll up any outfit with some glitz and glam and a subtle hint of skull and cross bone aggressiveness, there are a ton of cute little accessories that you can choose from, ranging from Betsey Johnson to simple skull studs.

Thinking about adding some skull decor to your house or home? Here are some neat skull pieces of art that I found, which would be perfect in any home, contemporary, modern or traditional. And these aren't just for Halloween.

It is a colour that attracts the eye, due to its mysterious and powerful ways. In order to wear red, one must possess the determination to not be afraid when they stand out in a crowd. People will look at you, no matter what. If you're comfortable with this, then go ahead! Layer on the lipstick, dress up in red feathers, where glitz and glam. The colour red is also very forgiving. You can wear a simple and almost colourless outfit (either black or white) and spice it up with a hint of red lipstick. Or, you can pile on the red accessories, and doll up your lips as well. Either way, red gives you the opportunity to show how bright a star you are.

Salvatore Ferragamo: Gaga vs. Kim

How would you wear the houndstooth pattern? It's a hard one to pull off, but if you have style, and are able to balance the proportions of the pattern, you'll be off on the right foot. (Like these gorgeous shoes below- and of course iphone cases to match)

As the Fall 2011 fashion trends move from the runway to the streets, we all wish that we could wear it perfectly like the models that walk down the catwalk. However, some celebrities like to add their own spin to the outfit, making it their own, simultaneously making a statement. Salvatore Ferragamo featured beautifully cut houndstooth patterns in the Fall 2011 collection, such as the one below. Celebrities such as Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian obviously fell in love with it as well, since they both decided to take it from the runway to the streets. Now, for the ultimate question; Who Wore It Better? This is a tough one, because clearly Lady Gaga is going to throw everything out of proportion and dress herself to the nines in houndstooth patterns. Given the fact that she paired the dress with matching sunglasses, hat, clutch, shoes and even leg decorations shows that she is dedicated to emphasizing an outfit. Although there is a definite overdose of black and white checks, she still pulls off her quirky yet sophisticated pose which she is known for. As for Kim, she simplifies the outfit with a little touch of red lipstick to add a tinge of boldness. Classy vs. Quirky. It's a tough one.

First weekend in Espana

This past Friday I embarked on yet another adventure to Barcelona Spain to see someone very dear to me. We took a roadtrip along La Costa Brava, stopping in many beautiful and serene beaches, wonderful restaurants and a gorgeous hotel located right on the sea. It was an adventure beyond words, full of amazing landscapes, sunsets and laughter. And of course food!
