Kazaky- My new obsession

A friend recently sent me a video of this group when they came across it on youtube, absolutely stunned. The unconventional fashion reminded them of my blog, and they quickly sent the link over. I did a little digging on the group myself, and came across two 2012 fashion show (March 2011), where they performed live while the models walked the runway. They have a catchy sound, and can shake their booty- I'm still mesmerized by what they can do, and how they can bend.

Recently I bought a lovely pair of tan and dark brown wedges for the summer months. At first I was sceptical of my closets contents and how a pair of brown faux leather wedges would compliment certain pieces, as I tend to stray towards blacks and whites. However, this green dress paired with a vintage brown belt was the perfect touch for this cool Saturday.

thursday night- crazy sushi

Thursday was a whirl of a day. Classes, then two hour traffic, then sushi with the girls.
Sushi was absolutely amazing, and delish.
I've realized that I have a nautical theme going on with my clothing recently... goes hand in hand with my dreams to be on the ocean in a boat, sailing my life away.

a collection from the weekend

This past weekend, the theme of nautical was everywhere. First off, I went out for dinner at a patio by the harbor, which was very cute and quaint. The atmosphere was amazing, and as the sun was setting it lit up all of the boats in a very romantic setting. I ate the most delicious food, and it was also the first time I heard of, and proceeded to devower a thing called goats cheese cake. The next day I headed off to work wearing a gorgeous pearl necklace. On Sunday, we went sailing on the lake for a good portion of the afternoon. It was absolutely wonderful; the weather was superb and the sun was shining.

hummus and goats cheese salad, with toasted pitas, chickpeas, sundried tomatoes and yellow carrots.

The Edge of Glory Music Video Exclusive- Lady Gaga

I always find Lady Gaga's music videos inspiring, energetic and some time controversial. However, this one seems to be uber laid back and oddly refreshing. I'm not so crazy about the repetitive lyrics, however it seems fitting since her last two singles were extremely intensive and possibly somewhat bizarre. The Edge of Glory is a super relaxing and refreshing break. Although, Gaga's outfits still seem to amaze me, being bizarre and over the top. Watching her strut her stuff down an residential street in garters and a leather bondage suit made me think of Frankenfurter from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Overall, I think I like this one too.

Band of Outsiders Resort and Spring Wear 2012

I have been focusing quite a bit on women's resort wear, and today I came across a men resortwear collection that I think is absolutely stunning. Band of Outsiders has come out with an elegant and laid back collection, with a colour scheme that is quite neutral, with a pop of colour. This collection is could be seen on the streets all around the world, in a beach or work setting. Casual sweaters are paired up with ties and dress shirts and vice versa. Keep your eye on the lookout for sleek shades and one colour three piece suits. Band of Outsiders created a mysterious and almost androgynous look by painting the models lips white. Hair is lightly tousled and shaggy, giving an "I don't care" beach bum look. I absolutely love the combination of sophistication and laid back relaxation of these looks.
